Family's Introduction to Au Pair
Nathaniel is very active and currently participates in Taekwondo twice a week, math enrichment sessions twice a week, and virtual Chinese classes twice a week. He has been diagnosed with ADHD and benefits from patience, structure, and positive encouragement. We are committed to providing him with the support he needs to thrive. He responds especially well to caregivers who are calm, understanding, and able to gently motivate him to stay focused on homework.
Seraphina (Phina) is energetic, social, and expressive. She loves fashion, music, singing, dancing, swimming, and staying active. She is very outgoing and enjoys talking to people.
We are both immigrants who value cultural exchange and family connection. Jodie was born in China and immigrated to New York City at age nine. Anthony was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, and moved to the United States at age eighteen. We grew up embracing American culture while staying closely connected to our own cultural identities and traditions, and we enjoy sharing these experiences with others.
Our family lives in Mahwah, New Jersey, near the New Jersey–New York border, where we have lived since 2020. We are former New Yorkers and currently work on a hybrid schedule in New York City, traveling back and forth regularly. Our home is approximately one hour from NYC by train or car, making it easy to explore the city during free time. We also frequently visit family in Philadelphia and you are welcome to go visit!
We are excited to welcome an au pair who is interested in becoming part of our family, sharing daily life with us, and enjoying cultural exchange, travel opportunities, and a supportive home environment.
