Hello! I am very excited to introduce myself and family to you as we begin our journey as a host family for an au pair. I am Kyle, the proud single father to an amazing little boy Keston. Keston will turn 5 this October and we are both excited to welcome an au pair to our home and family. I was born and raised in New York City to immigrant parents from the Caribbean (Trinidad where we own a home and travel to often). Since a child, my family instilled in me the values of love and respect for different cultures, ethnicities and religions. One of my biggest passions is traveling. So far I have visited more than 30 countries. I love to experience the vibrancy, food, and culture the world has to offer and this is something I passionately want to share with Keston. One of the main reasons why we want to be a host family is to get first-hand experience learning the culture of someone else and at the same time sharing ours. New York City is the best city on earth and I would love to share my life long knowledge of this incredible city with you.

A little bit more about me. I am a corporate lawyer who works in the finance industry. I am gay single father raising Keston with the love and support of my loving family. My sister and mother play a huge role in Keston and I lives. My family lives in Brooklyn and Keston typically spends a night with grandma 2-4 times a month. I am incredibly outgoing! I love to learn new things, visit new places, try new restaurants. Keston and I live a pretty active life. Outside of school, our time together is spent at soccer lessons, children's play spaces, weekend brunches with friends, hosting play dates and parties at our home or going to new parks and museums. Keston is an incredibly kind, caring and compassionate little guy. He loves hugs, kisses and tickles and loves his family. He enjoys helping his friends and family and always is quick to stop his soccer game if any of his teammates gets hurt. He genuinely a mild mannered child. Very polite and honestly, very pleasant. At first Keston can be a bit shy, but as he gets comfortable, he is full of personality--a very funny boy who loves to dance and play games.

Hosting an au pair will be a major change for Keston and I as well as for the person who will be joining our home. I am fully committed and will do all that I can to make sure this is a fantastic experience for all of us. I will always treat the person who joins us as family--with respect, honestly and open communication and ask the same in return. As we have our initial meetings, I want to be as transparent as possible; open and honest about us and our expectations to avoid any surprises. Keston is of course my priority but I want to ensure you have an amazing experience as well. We may not be the most traditional family, but we are a family full of love, family and respect for each other. I am raising Keston to have respect for others, to be polite, that school work comes before everything. And want an au pair who can reinforce these values. We are an active family and our house is full of energy--music is often played (Keston loves a dance parties), we love to host family and friends at our house. We go to restaurants, take weekend trips and vacations and do new activities often and would love to share all of this with the au pair. We currently live in Brooklyn, New York but will be moving to Valley Stream, NY in Long Island before the au pair's arrival. Valley Stream is a beautiful suburb of NYC. It is a quiet community of well kept houses and neighborhoods, but 10-15 min away from major stores, restaurants and malls and a 30 min train ride to Midtown Manhattan. The home will include a private bedroom and bathroom for the au pair's use.
