About me
I have 4 years of hands-on experience working with children and families. My background includes early childhood education, au pair work and caregiving, so I understand how children learn, what motivates them, and how to support them at their own pace. I have worked with families in Pretoria, Centurion, Nigel, Alberton, Bedfordview and Glenvista. I currently work as an au pair, where I support children with their daily routines, homework and learning activities.

How I approach tutoring
I believe every child can learn when lessons are patient, encouraging and fun. My approach is built on play-based learning, which keeps children curious and engaged while they build real skills. I focus on:
Reading and English: phonics, sight words, reading aloud, comprehension, vocabulary and simple writing, building on my English certification
Mathematics: number recognition, counting, addition, subtraction and problem solving, using practical examples and hands-on activities
Homework support: helping your child understand the work, stay organised and finish tasks with confidence
Early learning skills: shapes, colours, letters, fine motor skills, listening and following instructions
Routine and discipline: encouraging good study habits, focus and a positive attitude to learning
I use games, stories, songs, drawing and everyday objects to make lessons enjoyable. I also take time to understand each child's strengths and what they find difficult, so my support fits them and not a one-size-fits-all approach.
