Introduction
My name is Jeanne, I am 18 years old and I live in Guérande, a small seaside town in France. I am sociable, curious and creative. I love cinema, literature and culture in general. I practice athletics. I live with my family and my two cats, Jouflu and Plume.
I have cared for children aged 1 to 12 through regular babysitting and full-time childcare during the holidays. I have prepared meals, looked after the children throughout the day, organised activities, and helped with their daily routines. I love doing creative activities, playing outside, going for walks, and reading stories. As I live by the sea, I also enjoy taking children to the beach, building sandcastles.
After high school, I plan to take a gap year before starting my studies, as I am still thinking about my future, possibly psychology. I want this time to reflect and gain life experience. Becoming an au pair is something I really want to do because I love spending time with children and I enjoy meeting new people and discovering different cultures.
I would really like to become an au pair in the Netherlands, although I am also open to other countries. I have loved the Netherlands since my first trip to Amsterdam and a second trip where I did a road trip across the country. Since then, I have known that I would like to live there one day.
I see this experience as a great opportunity to improve my English by using it every day and maybe learn a new language depending on the country I will live in. It would also allow me to discover the Dutch way of life and become more familiar with the culture and daily life within a family.
I am excited to share my own culture, become part of a family’s daily life, and grow through this experience. I believe this year will help me become more independent and confident!
