Thank you for taking the time to learn about our family! We are excited to welcome an au pair who is looking for more than just a childcare position—we hope to find someone who will become an important part of our family and enjoy the unique lifestyle we have created here in East Texas.

## About Our Family

I am a single father of eight wonderful children. Four of my children are now adults and live independently, while my four younger children are still at home and are the focus of this position.

The children are:

* 13-year-old daughter
* 12-year-old son
* 8-year-old son
* 7-year-old daughter

My children are kind, energetic, curious, and enjoy spending time outdoors. Our home is filled with activity, laughter, and adventure.

Because I am divorced, the children spend every other week with their mothers. This means our home alternates between being very busy and much quieter. During the weeks the children are away, I would appreciate occasional help with light household tasks, organizing, running errands, or preparing for the children's return. These weeks also provide the au pair with considerably more personal time and flexibility.

## Where We Live

We live on a beautiful ranch just outside Tyler, Texas. If you enjoy nature and animals, you will love living here.

Our ranch is home to a variety of exotic animals, including:

* Axis deer
* Fallow deer
* Zebra
* Kangaroos
* Exotic cattle
* And several other unique animals

You will have the opportunity to experience a lifestyle that very few people ever do. While caring for the animals is not your primary responsibility, you will certainly become familiar with them and be part of daily ranch life.

## About My Career

I am an Emergency Medicine physician. My work schedule changes from week to week and includes both day shifts and overnight shifts.

Because emergency medicine does not follow a traditional Monday-through-Friday schedule, I am looking for someone who is flexible and dependable. Some weeks may involve early mornings, while others may involve evenings or overnight coverage while I am working.

I will always communicate my schedule well in advance so we can plan together.

## The Children's School

Our family's educational schedule is unique.

* My 8-year-old son and 7-year-old daughter attend public school.
* My 13-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son are homeschooled.

Responsibilities may include helping keep the homeschool children on schedule, supervising independent work, assisting with educational activities, transporting children to activities, helping with homework, and encouraging productive daily routines.

## Primary Responsibilities

Your primary role will always be caring for the children in a safe, loving, and engaging way.

Typical responsibilities may include:

* Supervising the children while I am at work
* Helping establish daily routines
* Preparing simple meals and snacks
* Driving children to school or activities when needed
* Assisting with homework and homeschool organization
* Encouraging outdoor play and creative activities
* Helping keep children's bedrooms and play areas organized
* Children's laundry and other child-related household tasks

During the weeks the children are with their mothers, I may occasionally ask for assistance with:

* Running errands
* Grocery shopping
* Light household organization
* Preparing the home for the children's return

## Your Accommodations
