What are cookies?

Cookies are tiny text files that record your preferences when you visit certain web pages. Cookies are stored on your computer. They are not sent over the Internet. GreatAuPair uses cookies to keep track of your preferences and to remember you when you return to our web site.

Cookies cannot harm your computer and they do not contain any personal or private information.

You must properly set your GreatAuPair cookie so that you can sign in and be recognized by our system as a member.

How to properly set your GreatAuPair cookie.

Here are basic instructions for turning on cookie support within Microsoft Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome and Safari browsers. For all other browsers, please see your browser documentation or online help files. If you do not know your browser version, click on help and then click the "About" option.

 

Microsoft Windows Internet Explorer

To enable cookies in Internet Explorer 7, 8 or 9:

  1. Select the Tools option.
  2. Select Internet Options.
  3. Select the Privacy tab.
  4. Select the Sites button.
  5. Type www.GreatAuPair.com in the Address of Website box.
  6. Select the Allow button.
  7. You will see www.GreatAuPair.com listed in the Managed Web Sites box, where it should say Always Allow next to it.
  8. Select the OK button.

To enable cookies in Internet Explorer 6:

  1. Select the Tools option.
  2. Select Internet Options.
  3. Select the Privacy tab.
  4. Select the Edit button near the bottom of the window.
  5. Type www.GreatAuPair.com in the Address of Website box.
  6. Select the Allow button.
  7. You will see www.GreatAuPair.com listed in the Managed Web Sites box, where it should say Always Allow next to it.
  8. Select the OK button.

 

Mozilla Firefox

To enable cookies in Mozilla Firefox 5.x or 8.x for Windows:

  1. Select Tools from the menu options.
  2. Select Options.
  3. Select Privacy in the top panel.
  4. Set Firefox will: to Use custom settings for history.
  5. Type www.GreatAuPair.com in the Address of Website box.
  6. Select the Allow button.
  7. You will see www.GreatAuPair.com listed in the lower box, where it should say Allow next to it.
  8. Select the Close button.

To enable cookies in Mozilla Firefox 5.x or 8.x for Mac:

  1. Go to the Firefox drop-down menu.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Select Privacy.
  4. Set Firefox will: to Use custom settings for history.
  5. Type www.GreatAuPair.com in the Address of Website box.
  6. Select the Allow button.
  7. You will see www.GreatAuPair.com listed in the lower box, where it should say Allow next to it.
  8. Select the Close button.

 

Google Chrome

To enable cookies in Chrome for Windows:

  1. Click the Tools menu.
  2. Select Options.
  3. Select the Under the Hood tab.
  4. Select Content settings in the Privacy section.
  5. In the Cookies section, select the Manage exceptions button.
  6. Type www.GreatAuPair.com in the Add a new hostname pattern box.
  7. Select Allow from the drop down options.
  8. You will see www.GreatAuPair.com listed at the top with Allow listed next to it as a behavior.
  9. Select to close the window with the X icon.

To enable cookies in Chrome for Mac:

  1. Select Chrome > Preferences on the menu bar.
  2. Select the Under the Hood tab.
  3. Select Content settings in the Privacy section.
  4. In the Cookies section, select the Manage exceptions button.
  5. Type www.GreatAuPair.com in the Add a new hostname pattern box.
  6. Select Allow from the drop down options.
  7. You will see www.GreatAuPair.com listed at the top with Allow listed next to it as a behavior.
  8. Close the window.

 

Safari

To enable cookies in Safari:

  1. Go to the Safari drop-down menu.
  2. Select Preferences.
  3. Select Security in the top panel.
  4. Under Accept Cookies select Only from sites I visit.

 

Still seeing issues after turning cookies on?

If cookies in your browser are enabled and you are still seeing an error message that your browser's cookie functionality is turned off, try opening a new window in your browser. Sometimes a browser's cookies will not work properly when you are using multiple tabs in a browser window.

If this does not help, you can also clear your cache and delete your cookies.
