Dear Host Family,

My name is Fitri I am 24 years old from Indonesia. I would describe myself as a warm, patient, and hard-working person who really loves working with children and learning new cultures.

I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, which helps me understand child development, emotions, and how to communicate well with kids. Right now, I work as an elementary school teacher. I teach basic Math, English and Arabic. I help children learn letters and numbers in English and Arabic, and help them with their pronunciation. Teaching young students every day has taught me how to be vary patient and how to create a safe, fun, and happy environment for children to learn and grow.

Beside teaching, I also have practical experience in childcare. I completed a 1-month training for special needs care, where I learned how to handle different children's needs with care and patience. I also worked as a private tutor for first-grade students, helping them read and write. At home, I often help look after my two nephews (aged 6 and 1 year old). For my 1-year-old nephew, I help with preparing his daily food and milk, giving him a bath, and playing together. For my 6-year-old nephew, I helping with his homework like reading, plus and minus, and playing together. I also help my 17-year-old sibling with school tasks like making presentations, writing essays, and doing Arabic homework. I always keeping them safe.

In my daily life, I like to stay active. I go to the gym a few times a week, cook simple food, read books, and enjoy nature. I also like joining local volunteer activities in my community. I was committee member for big events in Indonesia like August 17th (Independence Day) and 1 Muharram, helping with competitions for elementary school like drawing, fashion show, calligraphy, and quiz contests. I also joined Disability Awarness Day, where I learned basic sign language, accompanied children with special needs, and helped them make bracelets. I also volunteered as a mentor for a 7-years-old child in an orphanage during a drawing activity together. For languages, basic to intermediate English (A2 level), Basic Arabic (A2), and I am currently active learning German (A1 level and going to A2 soon). I am working hard every day to improve my English and German skills so I can communicate better with your family.

To me, being an Au Pair is a great opportunity to become part of a new family, learn new languages, exchange cultures, and share my love for children. At home, I am used to helping my mother with daily routines like cleaning, washing dishes, cooking, and going to supermarket. I want to be a helpful and caring big sister for your children. I am ready to help with daily routines like helping with homework, playing games, preparing light snacks, and doing light household chores. I would also love to share Indonesian culture with your family, like cooking traditional food.
