The role is to primarily OVERSEE my mother’s healthcare and to maintain a clean and tidy home.

Someone in their late 20s to late 50s welcome.

Live-in work schedule can be negotiated/discussed
- preference is 2-week work & then weekend off from Friday afternoon, return for 8 am Monday. However, there is flexibility to suit both needs.

Basically my mother carries out ALL daily personal-hygiene matters herself for morning, daytime and evening.

She is (currently) physically mobile, although she has mobility issues from time to time and suffers arthritic pain/discomfort, so someone willing to do leg/foot/body massages would be good (there is also an electric hand massager).

She wears glasses & is slightly hard of hearing.

She has medication for arthritis, heart, cholesterol, blood pressure & diabetes (not on insulin) which she administers herself.

Due to the previously mentioned health conditions, she would like someone to regularly check to see she has not fallen (say in the bathroom or bedroom) and is not suffering immobility – she has a fair amount of independence and there is much she can do for herself.

Due to age, energy & health recovery, she does sometimes take day time naps - however, she is a very light sleeper and awakens easily, especially at night.

She would like someone willing to have conversations each day & not just stay in another part of the home until time for a routine such as meals & watch evening news etc as a companion.

Someone able to cook healthy meals including vegetable dishes, salads, soups & porridge - either reduced or no salt & no fried foods, as well as maintain regular meal-times such as 8 am for breakfast, between 12 & 1 pm for lunch & between 3 & 5 pm (no later) for main dinner - a hot drink & possible snack (such as biscuits between 6 & 7 pm if desired).

Someone content to engage in whole-house cleaning at least twice weekly OR use their own rota system.

Laundry (there is a washing machine) including hanging out clothing either out or indoor depending on weather, unpegging & folding or placing dry items on hangers. VERY light ironing from time to time.

Someone content to water veranda plants twice weekly & change indoor table-top plant/water once weekly.
(NOT COMPULSORY but if there is an interest in flowers/plants, to water outside plants from time to time too.)

Errands from time to time to include escorting to medical appointments & on the rare occasion, accompany on trips; fulfil prescription; market/supermarket shopping; check/collect mail from post office; (possibly) bill payments.

OFFERED FACILITIES: Own room with closet/drawer space; guest bathroom with own drawer space; 3 meals daily included.
There is a quiet veranda for personal breaks/respite, as well as living & dining rooms for sitting/relaxing.
No restrictions on own appointments - however, please give sufficient notification.

All personal snacks & personal hygiene/beauty toiletries to be self-provided, including towels.

The den area is only for owners use.
For health & safety/phone battery overheating, prefer personals calls to be outside of kitchen (or only near the door area)
Prefer whilst being a companion, that personal calls are taken elsewhere (following a series of mini-strokes, she often wants to be in a non-distracting space as sound can affect her head) – an indication would be when she rubs to sooth it.
