**Job Description: Senior Care Provider (Montego Bay and Lucea, Hanover, Jamaica Applicants Only)**
We are seeking a compassionate, friendly, and hardworking senior care provider from the Montego Bay or Lucea, Hanover areas to support and care for a beloved elderly couple. This role requires someone who respects the dignity and independence of the individuals you will be caring for, with a focus on providing warm and attentive support services.
### Responsibilities:
- **Respect and Dignity:** First and foremost, treat both individuals with respect and understanding, honoring their independence and personal preferences.
- **Medication Management:**
- **For Mum:** Administer and monitor insulin injections twice daily (30mg in the morning before breakfast and 70mg in the evening before bedtime). Ensure she adheres to this schedule to manage her diabetes effectively.
- **Meal Preparation:**
- Prepare breakfast, light snacks, lunch, and evening meals for both Mum and Dad.
- Ensure Mum eats at least four times a day to maintain stable blood sugar levels.
- **Personal Care Encouragement:**
- Encourage Mum to shower regularly.
- Provide gentle reminders and encouragement for Dad to move and stay active, helping to improve his mobility.
- **Mobility Assistance:**
- Assist Dad, who uses a walker, particularly when he may need help reaching the toilet in time. Provide support and understanding in these situations.
- **Companionship:**
- Engage with Mum in conversation, as she enjoys talking and socializing. Accompany her on local errands and shopping trips, providing companionship and support.
- **Household Duties:**
- Sweep, mop, and wash dishes to maintain a clean and tidy living environment.
- Handle laundry tasks, including washing, drying, and folding clothes.
- Prepare and cook all meals, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
### Qualifications:
- **Experience in Senior Care:** Previous experience in caring for seniors, particularly those with mobility issues and diabetes, is required. You should have experience with insulin administration and a good understanding of managing blood sugar levels through diet.
- **Household Management Skills:** Demonstrated ability to manage household tasks efficiently, including cleaning, cooking, and laundry.
- **Companionship and Communication:** Strong interpersonal skills are essential, particularly in providing companionship to Mum. You should be a good listener and conversationalist, making her feel valued and heard.
- **Mobility Assistance:** Experience in supporting individuals with mobility challenges is important. You should be able to provide encouragement and practical assistance in helping Dad stay active.
