I am working at Specialized Medical Company Hospital as a Patient Care Assistant here in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for over 18 years. I am a good listener and enjoy working closely with others especially older people. I always practise compassion and understanding as I know how important this is to the wellbeing of the patients. I have excellent interpersonal skills and am extremely patient and resilient – these skills have helped me tremendously with the emotional aspects of the job.
My current job duties and responsibilities:
Assist patients in rendering on their personal hygiene needs, assist on feeding patient as necessary and ensuring that any special dietary needs are strictly adhered to
Informing Primary Nurse’s accordingly, observes and reports any changes in the patient’s physical and mental behavior, reporting any observable changes in patient’s clinical condition
Transporting patient’s to different areas of the hospital for procedures such as CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Angiogram, X-ray, Cath. Lab., Endoscopy, to and from Operating Rooms, and examining rooms and transporting scheduled patient to doctors’ appointments/colsultations
Transporting request to laboratory, Transporting unsterile/Collecting sterile supplies and medical equipment to and from Central Sterile Services Department
Answers patient call lights promptly and assist them always according to their needs and within the scope of my duties and responsiblities
Cleaning and disinfecting equipments, Reports any equipment that are not working and labelling them for repair
Floated between hospital departments to provide needed support
Participates in Fire Drills, updating basic life support, maintaining practice with established standard policies and procedures – CBAHI Standard
Always following Infection Control policy wearing proper PPE’s and diligently observe with hand washing techniques
Encourage/Assist patient’s with mobility problems, lifting/positioning bedridden patients every 2 hours to prevent bedsores, Transporting patient in wheelchairs, stretchers or on movable beds
Maintains cleanliness and organization of room including bed making, bed side care, preparation of equipment and supplies needed for patient admission, makes sure that an adequate supply of clean clothing and linen is available for patients and kept linen and utility areas clean and emptied patients dirty linen hampers
Performed department maintenance activities such as stocking, cleaning, checking/ordering and inventorying supplies, organize our stock room in proper order in such a way that it can be easily accessed
Assisted with admissions, discharges and transfers of patients
Assisting and maintaining a clean, safe and orderly environment for patients and staff
Keep all information about clients health highly confidential as a sign of respect for their privacy, treats patients and their family with respect and being professional at all times
Maintain good communication within the multidisciplinary team, being cooperative and a good team player
Attend required education and mandatory department meetings, punctual in reporting to work at all times.
I have Live-In Program certificate (October/2003), Dental Assistant II certificate (December/2023) and Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts in Advertising diploma (March/2002), Philippine National Red Cross Safety Services BLS certificate (July 15&16/2004) First Aid Training - Standard (July 12-14&17/2004).
