Introduction
All my life, I have had the priviledge of living with my now aged grandmother. Over the years, the dynamics have changed from her nurturing and protecting me in my foundational years, to me taking over that role and caring for her as she gets older daily.
As a young lady, I admit that taking responsibility for another human is not always the easiest of things to do, but looking after granny has been (and still is), a great learning curve for me to discover that I am passionate about meeting the needs of others and being a support system. This has brought on the realisation that I have potential in thriving in the role of a care giver as a career path. To that end, I took a short-term course in caregiving and had the opportunity of running an internship within a certified hospital. This has further broadened my horizon and equipped me with necessary skills essential for this role.
I am therefore ready to extend my caring arms to other senior citizens outside family and look forward to it.
