I have worked in hospital settings, facility settings as well as home care. I have a Registered Care Attendant Certificate from Sprott Shaw College. I have worked entirely in Canada so far but am currently looking to relocate out of country to Mexico or Costa Rica. I am currently living in Puerto Vallarta on a tourist visa but should the right position come available I would seek out my work visa immediately. Having worked in hospitals, facilities as well as home care settings I have gained a wide variety of experience working with and around all forms of physical and mental impairments or restrictions. Within the facility and hospital settings I worked in a variety of high stress and high volume situations caring for patients with a wide variation of requirements. Within the home care sector I also participated in food preparation and housekeeping /home maintenance as well as simple companionship positions. My time during facility work was at a permanent home for residences ranging from the ages of 15-100 caring for persons with disabilities ranging from spina bífida, vision impairment, dementia, simple physical limitations, comatose or complete body care clients, weight related required care, Parkinson’s disease, and everything in between. I have taken some time away from the industry to work in construction so I have a variety of useful skills and knowledge that could come in useful if working within the home setting for minor home maintenance. I also worked as an executive assistant in a large engineering firm so I am proficient with computers as well as scheduling and maintaining appointments as needed.
