I am passionate and energetic working with persons with disabilities especially Autism, Dyslexia, Down syndrome among others.
I have over 8 years institutional experience working with these persons ranging 2yrs to 34 years in Kenya. Over those years I have supported them with functional academics, fitness activities for their gross and fine motor skills, vocational skills like meal preparation, sports and photography as well as the basic activities of daily living like feeding, toileting, bathing , dressing and many others. My skills in summary are;
Vocational Training: Developed and implemented training for students at Kestrel Manor School and Mirema School, focusing on vocational and life skills.
Early Intervention: Provided one year of specialized early-stage support at Nairobi Early Intervention Centre.
Curriculum Familiarity: Experienced in using the ASDAN special needs curriculum, british curriculum and Competency Based Curriculum (CBC) for differently-abled learners.
Holistic Support: Proficient in managing behavioral interventions, personal hygiene, and social integration strategies.
