Hello there. Hope you are having a lovely day. Here's a bit about me (more than a bit actually, but I believe the more information the better).

I am a problem solver and find great satisfaction in educating myself about health and wellness and applying it to the situation at hand.

I have a background as a Certified Nursing Assistant, but haven't worked officially in that field since the 90's. However, these are skills one never forgets, especially if one is still utilizing them.

From 2016 to 2022, I was the sole carer for my 90 year old mother who suffered two strokes, and who, I am sad to say, has passed. Her physical needs included reduced mobility, severe hearing loss, diabetes, history of kidney failure and heart problems.

I bathed, toileted, fed her and administered her medications, used a Hoyer lift for transfers, performed minor first aid interventions, as well as doing all the necessary work around the house, cleaning and shopping, etc. to provide a healthy and comfortable environment for her. I received a small stipend from my family for my efforts.

Before becoming my mother's carer, I had the great privilege to live with and work for Francis, a 63 year old man with congestive heart failure and blindness. I was his personal assistant, driver, cook, health aide and friend and companion till the moment he passed. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life and I would look forward to helping you or your loved one with this kind of care should you choose me.

I also studied Special Education at Mercy College New York and in the early nineties was able to apply this knowledge whilst volunteering for an orphanage in Mexico City. There, I lived with and worked for children of all ages, both able-bodied and those with developmental disabilities. It was a challenging but very rewarding experience that I will treasure forever.

In May of 2023, I began training and working as a Behavioral Technician working with children with autism. I travel to the child's home and interact with them and their families, accomplishing tasks and helping them to better communicate, cooperate, and manage their needs in a productive way. I am leaving the job because I am ready to relocate out of Utah, having lived here for over 9 years (my mother was the only thing keeping me here and as I said, she has passed).

Rest assured, I will commit to giving you or your loved one the care, attention and companionship I would expect others to give my family. In other words, I would give it my all.

I have many interests and talents (**see below) that I would love to share and am always curious to learn from others what their life experiences have to teach me. I am a student of life, you could say.

** I am a trained classical singer (including opera), and play classical piano and guitar and am in the process of learning the cello. I sing in 12 different languages, though I am not fluent in any of them, sad to say. I love shooting and editing photos. I was a film major at the University of Utah and have a continued passion for film, in all its varieties.
