I love love dogs and cats. A home is not a home without them. I have had a cocker spaniel, Maltese and most recently a 70 kilo French Pyrenean Mountain dog who lived to the grand old age of 14 ( I think his long life must have been due to his daily tin of sardines ?). He was walked everyday come rain or shine and when he was old living in an apartment in Central London I’d also walk him in the middle of the night when he needed to go out.
I enjoy playing with dogs and grooming them.
I am well read on Cesar Milan’s dog whispering philosophy but would describe myself as a bit of a softy.
I have looked after other dogs for my neighbours but not as a paid job. I am happy to care for dogs but not to do a house visit and then leave them alone in your house until the next day… I think that’s cruel.
Cats are also lovely. I had adopted one cat who was pregnant and ended up with 5. I could not split up the family. The last one died at the age of 16 years very sadly.
For the last year there are 2 cats who are feral and live in my garden. I feed them and am trying to socialise them but they prefer to be close but not too close.
