Introduction
Hello there! I'm Anthonesha Ferguson, a dedicated pharmaceutical assistant with a passion for both healthcare and customer service. My journey in the healthcare field has been as diverse as it has been fulfilling, and I pride myself on being a reliable resource for both my colleagues and patients.
In my current role as a pharmaceutical assistant, I manage the daily tasks of the pharmacy, ensuring that everything runs smoothly from the moment the doors open. I have the critical responsibility of liaising with insurance companies and medical facilities, ensuring that our patients receive the medications they need without unnecessary complications. I am well-versed in reading prescriptions, dispensing medication accurately, and conducting minor diagnostics. I also oversee our pressure consultation room, where I get to engage with patients and provide the support they need. My training in first aid and CPR, along with my knowledge of phone and email etiquette, allows me to communicate effectively and sensitively with all stakeholders involved.
My previous experience as a Customer Care and Patient Care Lab Assistant taught me the value of organization and empathy in a healthcare setting. I took charge of my attending doctor’s weekly schedule, set appointments, and arranged transportation and medical transfers for patients, ensuring that their needs were met before they even arrived. Greeting patients with a warm smile and making them feel comfortable was always a priority for me. I handled everything from keeping patient files current and tidy to performing COVID tests and basic vitals, lab tests, and head-to-toe assessments. Each day presented new challenges, and I learned swiftly how to adapt while maintaining the highest standards of care.
But my skill set doesn't end there! I also have a creative side that shines through in my culinary pursuits. I have worked as a Jr. Sous Chef, a line cook, and a server in various restaurants, where I honed my culinary skills and developed a strong work ethic. The fast-paced environment of the kitchen taught me how to work under pressure while maintaining a focus on quality and presentation. I've always believed that food has the power to bring people together, and my experience in the culinary world has only reinforced my commitment to serving others—whether through healthcare or hospitality.
Throughout my career, I have been proactive in seeking out professional development opportunities. I hold several certifications, including a Healthcare with Feelings Customer Care Workshop, Basic Life Support and CPR, and a Patient Care Technician certification. These experiences have equipped me with valuable skills to enhance patient interactions and improve overall service quality.
In both healthcare and culinary arts, my goal has always been the same: to create an environment where individuals feel cared for and valued. I approach every task with charisma and a dash of cleverness, believing that a positive attitude can transform the ordinary into the extraordinary. Whether I’m assisting patients in the pharmacy, preparing meals in a bustling kitchen, or organizing schedules in a medical office, I strive to make a difference with every interaction.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me a little better. I look forward to contributing my skills and experiences to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those I serve!
