I’m a 54 year old, young at heart mother of two teenagers. I have lived in Spain for almost 20 years, where I have been working as a property maintenance manager. I was also completely hands-on and involved with painting properties, interior and exterior, cleaning, shopping, child caring, translating and pet sitting for our clients. Previously in the UK I was a personal assistant to a private couple in their country house, looking after all their office needs, and covering for the housekeeper and nanny when she was away. I also worked part time for a babysitting agency in the evenings, and for an antiques fair organiser at the weekends.
Having now moved with my family from the south coast of Spain to the Alicante region, I am looking for temporary, full time positions, to keep a work/life balance. I am happy to work for a few months at a time or perhaps share a caring job by working rotas of two or three weeks on/off. I am happy to travel within Spain, to the UK or within Europe.
I am very discreet and respectful of your privacy. I am patient, caring, and relaxed, but equally like to keep busy and get all the jobs done. I am organized, reliable and conscious of keeping a clean and tidy house. I am willing to try and help wherever I can, be it child care, elderly care, or helping out if you or one of your family need assistance whilst recovering from an injury. I am willing to train for some positions and do a practical first aid course and a moving & handling course if required. I am currently studying to start working in the care industry and have passed on-line modules including:

In the meantime, I am volunteering to visit an ex-pat elderly gentleman living in a care facility in Spain, as he has no friends or family here to help him. I take him out for coffee as often as possible as he hadn't been out of the home for 3 years! Before I moved up country, I also covered some care workers shifts, looking after an elderly gentleman who had early onset Alzheimers. I would also take a lovely, local elderly Spanish lady for breakfast and sit with her in the afternoons sometimes to give her carer son a well needed break.
In my free time, I enjoy being outside, walking, mountain biking, camping, traveling, amateur photography, reading, doing puzzles, playing board games, swimming and baking. When time permits, I would like to explore art classes and craft projects. I have a good sense of humor and believe life is to be enjoyed. I am a non smoker. I have two adorable ferrets that we take for walks daily on their leads. My (equally adorable) children are a 14 year old daughter and a 17 year old son, who both compete in their chosen sport of BMX Racing.
