My name is Volha, I am a curator, filmmaker and storyteller recently relocated to Madeira. With this letter I'd like to express my interest in collaboration with you.

I have a BSC degree in Theory and Practice of the Contemporary Arts from the European Humanities University that was forcibly closed in 2004 in Minsk and reorganized in Vilnius (Lithuania). I participated in the Erasmus Mundus Program in Italy In March of 2010.


Since then I have dedicated my academic establishment to interactive live art research. The main purpose of my bachelor thesis was the development and implementation of interactive live art projects. The objectives of this work were to explore the phenomenon of “countercultural recuperation”, its background in European context and with regard to the transformation of social protest into artistic practices. Upon completing my undergraduate studies in European Humanities University of Vilnius, I came back to Italy for an internship at "Xing", a cultural network operating in Italy and abroad, with the purpose of planning, supporting and promoting products and events characterized by an interdisciplinary approach towards the issues of contemporary culture.

Motivated from a deep desire of evolution and my intention to gain more experience in the development of innovative artistic projects through international collaborations and network of thinkers, I participated in July of 2021 for the first time in Learning Mobility Project for youth workers. The main methodology at the core of the project was the "Theatre of the Oppressed" which was developed by Brazilian artist Augusto Boal in the context of discrimination and human rights violation in Brazilian society in the 70’-ties. The project was focusing on the Newspaper Theatre method, which engage audience in an interactive and participatory way in
dialogue to explore and find solutions to whatever problems the community is facing, starting from media content. One of the aims of the Newspaper Theatre is to stimulate critical thinking in the “consumption” of media content and to stimulate engagement and interest towards issues raised through the performance.

Since this experience I have proceeded with participating in other youth mobility projects, improving my key competences and skills in non formal artistic education (see the Youthpath certificate in attachment below).

In September of 2021 I have also been collaborating with the association Architettura dei Corpi participating in the development of the project “Impronti Digitali”, born from the urgency to support a delicate growth phase such as adolescence in the digital era. We have developed an interdisciplinary approach that combines reflection and thoughts with the body used as a research tool, and which aims to accompany young people to a healthy and conscious use of technology through the appropriation of the body.


As an artist I get involved in a broad range of multidisciplinary fields: from the production of images and visual culture, to performing arts, social activism and the research of new forms of communication. I hope with my firm academic background as well as work and life experience she will also benefit from my knowledge and abilities.
