Implements safety protocols for Public Health Emergencies of International Concern (PHEIC) including
the COVID-19 Virus
• Active and passive surveillance of diseases of Public Health importance and diseases endemic within the
subregion
• Supervises vaccination campaigns at the airport, especially COVID-19 and Yellow Fever Vaccinations.
• Traveller screening, First Aid, and referrals where necessary
• Airport and conveyance sanitation: supervising activities of cleaning and disinfection contractors at the
Airport; air and water quality monitoring at the airport as well as vector control, and environmental
impact assessments
• Ensuring Food Safety at the Airport: inspecting food premises, organizing health screening and issuing
Health Certificates to food handlers; monitoring Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)
implementation among food handlers within the Airport
