Introduction
In my 3 years experience as a nanny, I've come to learn that it is one of the toughest and yet most rewarding jobs a person can have. To be a nanny you need to be able to adapt different situations as well as be flexible. You are placed into this family you know nothing about and you need to learn how this family works, for you are there to make everyday life easier for them. So, you may ask, why me. I spent a year working as an au pair in Paris, France. Luckily, I already could speak french, but having to adjust to a new city and a new way of life was a challenge I took on with a smile. I spent that year with two great kids who were 3 and 4 years old, did everything from clean the house, do the grocery shopping and run errands, cook meals for the family, not to forget the most important part: help raise two wonderful kids. I have spent the past two years helping take care of a family with an 11 year old son, my duties have been more centred as a housekeeper and a cook, but part of my job is also to do the school pick up and drop off and of course helping with homework.
It is definitly hard work, but there is nothing more rewarding than seeing how your influence impacts the life of a child.
