Hello! I have had many jobs in both management and assistant capacities. I have successfully managed 30 person teams in interior design and home improvement as well as retail for such companies as Pottery Barn & Jonathan Adler. I have worked as a design assistant until I branched out on my own in the late 1990s. I also worked as a loan officer's assistant/marketing coordinator, liasing with local realtors and networking groups while creating documents, flyers and pricing sheets. I planned events, parties and attended meetings in place of this nationally ranked loan officer. I made presentations to large groups to communicate our special approach, I got to know our biggest referral sources and kept databases with specific personal information so that targeted gift giving could replace mass junk like fridge magnets! This was so successful, that the Broker's office adopted my program for all of their loan officers. I have worked as a design consultant and furniture expert for Pottery Barn, Crate & Barrel, Room & Board & Santa Fe Home Furnishings. I also worked as a design studio consultant, walking new home buyers through pages of options for their newly built homes with KB Home. I have managed sub-contractors and vendors on job sites. I have created detailed floorplans and specified furniture and accessories and dimensions. I have created and maintained budgets and clients overseas with spreadsheets, simplifying the piles of invoices. I have done house and pet-sitting along with elder assistance and transportation. I have done meals from sandwiches to "I just saw this on Ina Garten's show, can you make it?" I have managed medications and problem-solved increasing discomfort up to Palliative care/hospice.
I have worked as a medical case manager at an HIV clinic, maintaining enrollment. I have chased down folks living off grid, searched for drug users downtown and met others at the hospital to get their signatures. Due to my training as a therapist, I was on the behavioral health team, where we made decisions about client care, access to medication (Opiates) and access to rental assistance above and beyond the standard amount. I have gone to court for child abuse cases, divorce proceedings and criminal charges. I have written recommendations and character letters. I also spent a year testing patients for HIV at the emergency room at the nearby Hospital. I have been married for 14 years. I am an unabashed animal lover! I am also a nature lover and enjoy hiking with my dogs and hubby! We traveled around the states, Canada and Mexico as well! We camped much of the time.
