Job Description
We are a busy entrepreneurial family in Hamilton, Ontario looking for a live-in family assistant and au pair. The core purpose of the role is to save our family time, keep daily life moving, and allow Colin and Auste to focus on growing their businesses.
The role will include family laundry, tidying and cleaning common areas, kitchen resets, groceries and errands, meal and snack preparation, cooking about one simple meal per day, and practical driving for family needs. It will also include caring for our six-year-old daughter, Ira, through school pickup, activities and outings, active play, outdoor time, reading and homework support, meals and snacks, and bath or bedtime help when scheduled.
Ira is in school during the day, so most childcare is needed after school, in the evenings, and on weekends. Some school-day hours will focus on household and family support. This is about 40 scheduled hours per week at CAD $4,000 per month. The schedule and priorities may vary but will be planned in advance, with clear working and off-duty time.
We need someone warm, confident, proactive, dependable, and adaptable who is comfortable moving between family support and childcare. A valid driver's licence, satisfactory driving record, strong childcare references, and legal authorization to work in Canada by the start date are required. A furnished private bedroom and private bathroom are provided.
