We are seeking a kind, experienced, and proactive tutor/nanny to provide full-time, in-home homeschooling and care for our two young children from February until June in Cape Town. We have a 3-year-old daughter and a 4-year-old son. This is a hybrid role combining early education and nurturing care in a home-based learning environment. The right person will be passionate about early childhood development and able to create a warm, structured, and engaging daily routine tailored to each child’s needs.

About the Children:
Our Son (4 years old)
He is bright, curious, and thrives in an engaging, structured learning environment. He enjoys hands-on activities, new challenges, and benefits from one-on-one attention. He is currently in occupational therapy and being evaluated for ADHD and sensory processing disorder. He has difficulty with impulse control and emotional regulation, and needs a caregiver who can implement consistent, calm strategies to support his emotional development. His learning potential is high, and with the right support, he flourishes.
Our Daughter (3 years old)
She is playful, independent, and loves creative activities such as music, art, and imaginative play. She enjoys social interaction and is eager to learn through exploration. She benefits from structure, gentle encouragement, and interactive learning experiences.

Primary Responsibilities:
? Homeschooling & Learning Support
* Create and implement a daily, play-based curriculum for preschool and transitional kindergarten levels
* Teach foundational academic skills: letters, phonics, early math, science, and social skills
* Use a variety of learning approaches including visual, auditory, sensory, and hands-on activities
* Provide individualized support based on each child's developmental stage and interests
* Foster critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity through open-ended play and guided learning
* Integrate emotional learning, mindfulness, and social-emotional regulation strategies into the daily routine
? Childcare Duties
* Supervise and care for both children throughout the day
* Prepare and serve healthy snacks and lunch
* Assist with toileting and hygiene needs as needed
* Ensure a safe and stimulating environment for indoor and outdoor play
* Maintain consistent routines for rest/quiet time
? Light Household Tasks (Child-Related Only)
* Clean up after meals and activities
* Keep learning and play areas organized and tidy
* Assist with children’s laundry as needed

? Schedule:
* Monday–Friday, approximately 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
* Flexibility is a plus, but consistency and routine are key

? Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Background in early childhood education, homeschooling, teaching, or nannying with educational focus
* Experience working with children with behavioral or sensory needs preferred
* A calm, patient, and emotionally attuned caregiving style
* Creativity in lesson planning and a love for engaging young minds
* Familiarity with or willingness to learn about sensory integration, ADHD, and positive behavioral supports
* Excellent communication and collaboration with parents
* CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to become certified)
