Welcome to our family! We are the Pao family. We live in sunny Pleasanton, California. This is a suburb located in Northern California, which is approximately 45 minutes east of San Francisco and 30 minutes south of Oakland. Our town is public-transportation accessible, and we are a 45-min BART ride to San Francisco. We love living in Pleasanton. Our home is within walking distance to downtown, which is home to many restaurants, bars, and shops. In our free time, we like to explore and visit parks. And when we're home, we like to cook, watch TV, and play with Emmy (3) and Olive (our dog).
My name is Caroline and my husband is Nathan. We have one daughter, Emmy, who will be 4 years old in June. Emmy is joyful and loves to laugh and play. She can be shy when meeting new people but quickly opens up. Emmy’s favorite activities are singing, dancing, and imaginative play. She loves to play with trucks, dance, sing, and explore local parks and gardens. She’s also an avid soccer player. Last, but not least, is our dog Olive. She is a small grey and white miniature schnauzer who has a big personality! She is easily one of the funniest and smartest dogs you’ll ever meet.
Both Nathan and I work 5 days a week. Nathan works in Business Development/Marketing for an international law firm and I work in Recruiting/HR for a different international law firm. Nathan works from home most days and goes into the office (in SF) once a month. I go into the office (in SF) twice per week. When we’re home, we work in separate corners of the house and promise we won’t get in your way!
Emmy is in preschool from 8:30 am – 3:00 pm Monday through Friday. A typical day for us would start at 7:00 am. We would need help getting Emmy ready for preschool (i.e. getting her up, feeding her breakfast). Once ready, either you or I (Caroline) will drop Emmy off at pre-school. In the afternoon, we’ll need your help again beginning at 2:00 pm. From approximately 2:00 pm – 3:15 pm, we’ll need help with light household chores (i.e. laundry, putting dishes away). And then at 3:30 pm, we’ll need help picking Emmy up from pre-school (pick-up is 4pm, after her activities). After pre-school, we’ll need your help to entertain her. In the afternoon she plays at home, goes to the pool (when it’s warm), and/or visits local parks and gardens. You will have your own car to use to make getting around a little bit easier for you.
Nathan and I enjoy going out to dinner once a month. This is our way of spending quality time together. We would need you to take care of Emmy on an occasional Friday or Saturday night. But mostly we try and make weekends family time. We might go to the park or go out to eat. You are always welcome to join us. But you’re also free to use your weekends exploring. We know you will have things you will want to do in your free time.
Our ideal childcare provider is someone who will love and care for our daughter as if she was their own. We are looking for someone responsible, organized, attentive and kind. And we value honesty, respect, and open communication. Never hesitate to come to us if you have questions or need help.

The Role: We're looking for a loving, responsible nanny for our 4 year old daughter. Drop-off and pick-up from preschool, meal preparation and light housekeeping (e.g. tidying up the kitchen/home, laundry, grocery shopping, and errands) is required. And overtime may be requested for the occasional date night.
Hours: Monday - Friday (7-8:30 AM; 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm). Additional hours may be required as Caroline travels for work a couple of days per month.
About Us: We live in Pleasanton, CA within walking distance to downtown and a few parks. Our daughter enjoys music/dancing, soccer, reading, and walks to the park. Currently, my husband and I work full-time. Nathan works from home 100% of the time. I (Caroline) work in SF twice per week, but work from home otherwise. I (Caroline) also travel for work frequently. We're a dog-friendly household and we share our home with an 11 year old mini-schnauzer. Ideally, you'll love dogs as much as we do (but pet care isn't part of your duties).
Other notes: Clear background check, Driver's License and clean driving record, and proof of vaccinations required. Car and car insurance will be provided by the family.
