We are an experienced host family that has a deep appreciation of the au pair program, having hosted aupairs since 2015! We have had incredible experiences through this program and have gained new family from the time spent with each of our past aupairs — each whom have enriched our lives differently and have blessed us with their kindness, love and dedication to our family. 
We are honest, kind and thoughtful host parents that care deeply about the physical, social and mental wellbeing of our children and our au pairs. 
In this letter, I will share a lot of info and thoughts to set the ground for hopefully a deeper discussion about our family and a potential match! I believe in being completely open and honest in this matching process to ensure the best possible fit. This is a huge decision and having all the info is critical to mutual success.
Why the aupair program?
There is a proverb that says “It takes a village to raise a child,” essentially a friendly reminder that asking for help with hard things is okay because many hands make light work. We strive to surround ourselves by people that will enrich our kids lives every day with their presence while also getting in the trenches of parenthood with us, to help raise happy, well adjusted, kind, sensitive and smart individuals day-to-day.
We believe aupairs — like yourself — are a great role model for our girls, showcasing a desire for adventure, profession and independence; making your dreams a reality through finding work in another country. How incredibly brave. Additionally, the blending of different cultures is something that we believe is unique to this program and an invaluable life lesson.
A little more about us…
Our loving and growing family is looking for an aupair to join us in our adventure. We have two beautiful and active girls -- Abby (9) and Charlotte (6) and have recently found out that we are expecting in April. ??
Pause… breathe….if you think that sounds overwhelming, I would agree with you! However, I promise you that it is going to be fun and chaotic and beautiful and a TEAM SPORT! (You would not be alone with the baby for at least 3 months and I work from home so most of the time we would divide and conquer.)
What would my day look like?!
I can’t say the exact hours since pre-baby and post-baby would look different, but I can tell you that you would work really hard Mon-Friday and have weekends off with flexibility and time to travel.
Pre-baby (less then 45 hours)
The girls are in school most days (9-4) and then have lots of activities that require driving them to/from. Driving is really important. Abby currently swims, cheerleads, does drama and softball. Charlotte loves karate, art class and is going to start dance and piano. On the rare days that they are home after school they need to do homework, play, decompress and just be kids.
Post-baby (45 hours)
A new baby is going to be an adjustment so really looking for someone to provide extra love to Abby and Charlotte and give them extra care and attention. If that is all you did, it would be a huge win for us! :)
When the girls are in school, you would be responsible for helping with baby. I assume lots of naps, playtime, food prep walks and daytime activities. We have an aquarium nearby, the beach, libraries, and lots and lots of local parks and activities. There are also other aupairs so you can network and create play dates in and out of the house.

Abby: Abby is 9 and is silly, witty and funny and sensitive and confident. She is always smiling and loves to play. She is wise beyond her years and soaks everything around her in. She is a free spirit and loves to be creative, loves reading and writing. She benefits from lots of one on one attention. She will be in 4th grade this year.
Charlotte: Charlotte is starting kindergarten this year. She is a leader and knows exactly what she wants and goes for it. She is incredibly empathetic and sensitive but stands up for herself. She can have big emotions and can tantrum at times, which is getting better as she gets older. She is one-of-a kind and easy to love and hard to forget. She is also a ball of energy and so fun.
Mom: I am Jessica and I work as a communications executive for a media company called iHeart. I have been at the company for 12 years and I love it, but my real passion is being a mom. I over-volunteer at every school function and enjoy being class mom and planning over-the-top themed parties for the girls. I love crafting and read lots of parenting help books to try and improve my parenting strategies. :)
Dad: Mark is a partner at an accounting firm and has traveled all over the world. He also works from home and is usually on work calls all day — popping out of the office only for coffee and food. He loves reading (not parenting books!) traveling and making the kids laugh ALOT.
