My name is Effie. I am a twenty-eight-year-old from Kenya but currently residing in U.A.E, Dubai. Thank you for taking your time to read my letter and get to know a little more about me. I hope this message brings you a lot of reasons to smile. I am a teacher by experience and that is what I currently do in the U.A.E.I work as a live in tutor and a part-time nanny. Most of my time is spent around the children I care for which is really a beautiful thing I get to experience every day. I have lived in the U.A.E for the past two years now under the care of the family I work for. I have lived to become part of the family and even embraced parts of its Arabic culture.
I would describe myself as a kind, responsible and outgoing person. I am very open minded especially when interacting with kids because I believe every child has a different personality and has to be handled in a special way. I value good communication, honesty and respect. I enjoy cycling, listening to music, reading and cooking. I find these activities fun and I believe that these hobbies help me align to my future goals and always be in a positive mindset bringing positive energy into my everyday life.
Afterwards I moved to the U.A. E, where I started my home tutoring journey with my current Arabic host family. My roles included assisting the kids with homework from school while following up on their school work and progress. I would also come up with fun activities and playdates for them during their weekends. Through these experiences, I have learnt to be patient, understanding, open minded and very attentive to a child's individual needs. I got to understand each child has their own personality and understanding them was key to their personal growth and mine as well professionally.
I would like to be an au pair because I have always enjoyed spending time with and around children. The au pair journey will have two things I take to heart so much which are caring for children and also getting to experience a whole new culture outside my own culture. I believe it will be a journey worth embracing while I get to become a part of a new family and build meaningful relationships and creating beautiful memories together with you guys. I see this experience as an opportunity to grow personally while I experience a new culture and contribute positively to your family. I hope that within my period of stay I will not only be just an au pair but also be part of a trusted member of your family.
