I'm a psychologist by training, originally from Italy/Hungary and currently based in the UK, relocating to Switzerland. I currently work as an Assistant Psychologist supporting children and young people with a range of developmental needs, and I hold a BSc in Psychology and an MSc in Child and Adolescent Mental Health, but honestly, what I love most isn't the qualifications, it's simply spending time with children and getting to know who they are.
I've cared for children of family and friends on an ongoing basis for several years, from babies as young as six months right through to age six. With the little ones, that's meant full daily care, feeding, naps, soothing, and gentle play. As they've grown, it's turned into more active, imaginative days: outdoor adventures, craft projects, made-up games, and lots of conversation. I genuinely love this part of life, the mess of finger painting, the seriousness of a pretend tea party, the pride on a child's face after they've done something for the first time.
My professional background means I bring a bit more than most nannies to the table when it comes to understanding how children think, feel, and develop, including children who might need a bit more patience, structure, or a more tailored approach, whether that's due to big emotions, anxiety, or additional needs like autism or ADHD. But day-to-day, I'm just someone who's warm, patient, and easygoing, with clear and fair boundaries, who genuinely enjoys being present with kids rather than just supervising them.
Outside of childcare, I'm an active, outdoorsy person, I've snowboarded every winter since childhood, I play tennis, and I love being outside whenever I can, which I really enjoy sharing with children through play and activities. I speak English, Italian and Hungarian natively, have conversational Spanish, and am developing my French.
I hold a full driving licence, an up-to-date DBS/safeguarding certificate, and an Adult First Aid certificate (with some paediatric first aid content), and I'd be very happy to complete a dedicated Paediatric First Aid course before starting with a family.
I'm looking for a permanent, live-out position with a family in Switzerland, ideally around Lausanne or Geneva, where I can be a consistent, trusted part of your children's everyday life.
