Hi! My name is Ana Melissa and I am 23 years old. I have always been interested in learning about other cultures, their traditions and different ways of life. My native language is Spanish, and I started learning English in elementary school. Since then, I have continued improving my English. I have also learned some French and Japanese, and more recently German. I really enjoy learning languages because they allow me to understand other cultures and communicate with people from different backgrounds.

I would love to have the opportunity to live abroad for a period of time, not only to improve my language skills, but also to experience another country from a more personal and everyday perspective by sharing daily life with a host family and learning about their customs and traditions.

I have had experience spending time with and caring for children since I was a teenager. During secondary school, I participated in an extracurricular activity in which we helped at a preschool, took part in activities and spent time with the children. Later, I also helped friends of my mother on several occasions by taking care of their children while they were at work.

I enjoy doing activities with children, while also believing that it is important to respect their routines, personalities and personal space. I especially enjoy board games, walks and outdoor activities, as well as quieter moments at home. I am also happy to help with light household tasks related to the children and everyday family life, such as keeping their spaces tidy, helping with meals or cleaning up after activities.

I grew up with pets and animals have always been an important part of my family. At the moment, we have three dogs and two cats at home, so I am very comfortable living with and caring for animals.

I have a degree in Computer Science, and besides my academic background, I have a strong interest in the arts, particularly theatre, acting and directing. I enjoy discovering new cultures and ways of life because I believe that understanding different perspectives enriches both my personal growth and my creativity.

I am from Cuba, so I believe that living in Europe would be a very enriching cultural exchange experience for me. I would also love to share aspects of my own culture, language, traditions and food with my host family.

Communication and mutual respect are very important to me. I see the au pair experience as an opportunity to discover another culture from the inside, improve my language skills and grow both personally and culturally. I hope to find a family with whom we can feel comfortable, communicate openly and make the experience positive for everyone.

I am ideally looking to start around January 2027. I initially considered a stay of around six months, but I am flexible regarding the duration. If I find a family with whom we have a good relationship and everyone is happy with the experience, I would be very open to staying for a year or potentially longer.
