Hej!

My name is Hallie and I am currently 21 years old. I am from Deer Isle, a small island on the coast of Maine, USA, but I was raised outside of Philadelphia.

In May of 2027, I will graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts.

I have Swedish heritage and have always known I eventually wanted to come back and explore that side of my life. This past semester I studied at DIS Stockholm and absolutely fell in love with Stockholm and Swedish culture. I am especially inspired by the strong emphasis on childhood, family life, and overall well-being. I admire how Sweden prioritizes time together, and how children are encouraged to be independent, curious, and connected to nature from a young age.

During my time in Sweden, I was struck by how family life is centered around balance, making space for both work and meaningful time with children. I appreciate the value placed on outdoor play, creativity, and giving children the freedom to explore and learn through experience. This approach resonates deeply with me, and it is something I would love to support and be part of as an au pair!

I believe it is important to note that I am already familiar with the Stockholm area as well as the Visa process, as I had to obtain a residence permit in order to study there.
