To Whom It May Concern,
I am writing to express my interest in the position of Childrens Nanny.
I have worked for the past ten months as a part - time nanny in Australia. This was taken
on the understanding that I was returning to the UK. This was for a wonderful family withthree boys, aged 7, 5, and 2 years. This role was to be purely temporary. It is because of
my enjoyment for the role, and the wishes of the parents that I have stayed so long.
I am returning to the U.K. on September 22nd 2016.
A large part of my experience has been in education. I have worked as a Teacher Aide in
a Montessori Primary School in Australia for eight and a half years.
My work life has centred around the school routine of my now 22 year old son. I love my
work in education but desperately want to return to work in a household. I am looking for a
long term fit.
I have worked as a live in and part time nanny for various families in London and inWarwickshire/Worcestershire. I have also worked as a live out nanny in Warwickshire for
two families.
I have worked for two families in the school holidays as housekeeper, nanny, and cook.
Both of these families live on acreage. The families are known to me through the school.
Within the one family both parents work at home. The other family run their own plant
nursery, alongside work in the city.
I have a beautiful references from both of these families.
I set up and ran my own Montessori pre school in the UK at the age of 23. This I ran
successfully for ten years. The age range of the children was two and a half to five years.
The local primary schools commented on how well prepared the children were for their
next stage.
I have been a Teacher Aide/teacher for the last ten years in Australia. I have been in my
present job for 8 and a half years. My role the past two years has been with children aged3 to 6 years. It has previously been with children aged 4 to 7 years.
I am a team player. I have very good working relationships with the teachers I work with -
working together in close confines, and working as a team within the school. My role is
more of a team teacher than a teacher aide since we have 22 children whom all deserve
help in being engaged in work. As you can imagine, children of that age group are quitedemanding, hence we are kept busy every second of the day!
I enjoy working with the younger children since I enjoy the nurturing side of children.
I have a very good reputation within the school both as a support educator and as a‘second mother’ to many children. I know that many parents will be very willing to offer
references for me in addition to my professional references.
I have one son whom is now independent hence my ability to return to my first love. (Myson is now living back in the UK).
I worked in the UK during 2018 as a Nanny/Tutor for one family, with children aged 2 and 4. I worked for another family as a Nanny/Housekeeper with children aged 10 and 14. I stayed for 12 months for both of these families.
I am friendly, have a calm nature, am a very positive person, have a natural love ofchildren, and care about their education and progress. I am extremely energetic and havea young approach to life, and keep myself in shape.
I am a confident and competent driver.
I adore being outdoors and encouraging this love in children. I enjoy sports of any nature.
My son played football, rugby, tennis, and cricket. I love being a part of these sports to
provide support!
I am a keen gardener and enjoy sharing the growing of veggies and herbs etc withchildren. I have helped to build up our veggie patch for our class at school.
I have a dog who will be staying in Australia but I adore walking dogs especially if there are fields to explore.
When I left school I trained to be a riding instructress. Whilst I have never used this
qualification, I do have a knowledge and interest in horses/ponies.
I am an able cook and love cooking. I have been responsible for our weekly cookingsessions at school - planning the menus and implementing them with the children.
I am personally interested in healthy natural food and the benefits thereof.
I am willing to be as an initial interview, with a follow up interviews if necessary.
I have ‘typewriting’ exams (!) which enables me to touch type effectively.
I am a keen skier. I have skied every year for 20 years in France and Switzerland.
I hold a UK driving licence, and a current First Aid/CPR certificate (this also includes
asthma training, and the use of an epipen). I hold a Blue Card which enables me to legally
work with children.
