It is a pleasure to meet you. My name is Jack, and I am from Taiwan. I recently came across your au pair opportunity on social media and was matched with your family. I am very interested in learning more about your family and your expectations for an au pair.

I am currently working in the Philippines and have been living and working here for over a year. In the evenings, I work part-time as an online Mandarin (Chinese) teacher, teaching students from different cultural backgrounds, including children and teenagers. Through this experience, I have developed strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to adjust my approach based on a child’s age and personality.

When interacting with children, I believe in building trust through consistency, kindness, and clear communication. I enjoy engaging with children through daily routines, conversations, games, reading, and creative activities. I pay close attention to their emotions and needs, encourage them to express themselves, and always communicate in a calm and positive way.

If your family is interested, I would be very happy to support your children’s Mandarin learning in a natural and enjoyable way. I usually teach through simple conversations, storytelling, songs, games, and daily-life situations, helping children feel comfortable with the language without pressure. I believe early exposure to Mandarin can be both fun and valuable.

I am an outgoing and sociable person, which helps me adapt quickly to new environments and build positive relationships with both children and adults. I am also able to drive, which allows me to assist with transportation or daily routines if needed.

In 2024, my English level was close to beginner. After studying in the Philippines for three months, my English improved significantly, and through working and teaching here for over a year, I have continued to strengthen my communication skills. Living abroad has taught me independence, adaptability, and how to integrate respectfully into different cultures and family environments.
