I present myself not only as a babysitter but as a care taker and contributor to the development of your child/children so (s)he/they can grow up to be the best adults (s)he/they can be while navigating this beautiful, strange and often tough world we live in.
Emotionally sensitive, I am creative and artistic, and have worked in the art world as a freelance textile designer for a decade. My hobbies include sewing, crocheting and drawing. Having grown up in a house in a forest, I love doing outdoor activities and can also contribute to the caring of the family pets.
I have a BA and MA in Political Science and International Relations, and am knowledgable in History, Philosophy, Sociology, amongst others.
I am a Portuguese native speaker, fluent in English and can hold conversations in Spanish and French.
I consider myself to be culture-sensitive, having travelled in America, Europe, Africa and Asia, and worked as intern at the United Nations in New York and the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs stationed in Mozambique.
I have been working as a part-time after-school nanny since 2018, with ocasional extra weekends, sleep-ins, sick days. I stayed one year with a family of four kids and five years with a family of two kids. I left my previous job, after careful planning with the parents, due to the acceptance of my US Visa.
Currently residing in Jamaica (Queens), and looking to work in Manhattan, Queens, Brooklyn or within the LIRR line.
