"Dear Host Family,
Thank you for taking your time to read my letter.
My name is Esther Adhiambo and I am 19 years old. You surely get a lot of these letters from prospective Au Pairs but rest assured you will not regret reading about my reasons why I want to become your Au Pair. I am currently living with my mother, my younger brother and my elder sister in Kisumu City. My dad works and lives in Uganda but usually comes and visits us regularly. At the moment I am waiting to join Mount Kenya University as I had graduated from high school last year December. I can't wait to explore more from the world and other countries afterwards!
In my spare time, I love cooking, baking and reading novels but most of my spare time I usually read novels. One of my favourite author is Cathy Kelly. I have read all of her books. I also usually cook meals too and bake in the evening but not every day.
I would like to become your Au Pair because I love children and enjoy spending time with them.I am well aware of the fact that children come with responsibilities and it will not always be play and fun.I have five year experience taking care of my elder sister's two children who were between 3-7 years. She is an air hostess and she used to work till very late. So I used to get the kids ready for school ,pack for them their lunch, take them to school,do some light house chores,pick the kids from school, help them do their homework,give them something to eat as I wait for my sister. I expect that the first couple of days I will be exhausted at night because taking care of children the whole time can be tiring but I am sure that I will adapt to the new tasks and daily routine quickly and become a big help to you. I have never spent time abroad though I know I adapt and familiarize myself with new surroundings quickly but I have relatives who live abroad.
