Dear host family,
I am already excited about getting to know you. But first of all, I would like to introduce myself to you.
My name is Marysharon. I’m a 24 years old girl from a small town called Busia in Kenya. I speak fluent English which is my native language and basic French. My family consists of my parents, Stephen (47) who is my dad and Emily (41) who is my mum. I have four siblings, my sisters stella (21), marion (8), precious (5) and my brother Ian (15).
I live in a house located in an area full of nature. We have two cats and two rabbits who we love to cuddle all day. My father works as a teacher as well as my mother. I have a very large family, which also includes my 8 cousins.
I would describe myself as a reliable and caring person, who tries to make the best out of every situation, like spending time with my friends who are as well as my family, always trying to help, I am always there if am needed.
In my free time, I like to:
Go for nature walks
Make and try different dishes
Ride bikes
Swimming
Socializing
Sporting activities
Go shopping
Watching animations /cartoons
Reading a good book
At the moment, I work as a nanny. I enjoy this job very much because I am able to bond with kids. Two years ago I also got attached at the Ministry of culture, gender, youths and sports which gave me experience of learning different cultures here in Kenya, taking care of kids with disabilities, street kids and also kids affected as a result of gender based violence.
Since the beginning of 2022 to date I work as a nanny where, I take care of children 3yrs and 6 years for my employer. I became very close to them and cherish every moment with them. My younger siblings, I also take care of them as a firstborn, when our parents are away at work. Through this time, I have found out how much fun it is to have children around, I can’t imagine my life without them.
As a nanny, I normally:
Take/pick kids from school
Make the kids room
Prepare meals for the kids
Play with the kids
Help the kids with their homework
Come up with creative activities for the kids
Do any light household chores
Babysitting
Taking care of pets
I am first aid certified.
The reason why I want to aupair is because I want to get to know the European way of life as well as different cultures. Most importantly, it would be a great chance to spend the entire year taking care of children. And of course, it would be great to improve my knowledge and skills in many cultures which is also my career path as a social worker (in the field of culture, sports, gender and youth) as well as childcare which is a course that I want to enroll when I come back home after my aupair year.
I hope we can develop good relationship, working and living together as a family. I would be very happy to experience an eventful year with you and your kids. I am looking forward to talking to you.
