Hello my names Amy, I'm 37 years old and here in Canada from England. In 2018 I gained my permanent residency through childcare and now eligible for my citizenship. I'm hoping to fill my week as a nanny on the Sunshine Coast.
Since moving to Canada I’ve worked with a number of families with children ages 1yr-5yr. Recently working in a nanny-share roll taking no more than 1 child form 2 separate families.
Prior to moving to Canada I had been working in enlgand for a family with 4 children age between 2 and 10. I finished with the family mid February 2015 As I was no longer needed.
Summer 2012 I finished 2 years of Au pairing in Chicago, USA! I loved the work and the families I worked with. During my first year I worked with a family and looked after one 2 year old girl. My duties required taking her too and from daycare, food, child's laundry, walking the dog, general help around the house. My second year I moved to a family with 3 children ages 7, 4 and 2. My duties mainly included helping round the house, dog care and generally being at home so there was someone there for the children at most times during the day. The mother liked to be hands on with the children as much as she could but I'd stand in if she needed me too. I had a great connection with the family and was unable to continue with them unfortunately as my visa expired.
I love being part of a family and will happily join in with family activities. I am pretty independent and love keeping busy so like to go out with friends, running, swimming, beach, cinema, absolutely anything.
Before leaving the UK to go to america I worked as a Swimming Teacher and Lifeguard for 3 years. I also was employed by David Lloyds Gym doing Swimming Teaching.
I am a non smoker. Also hold a clean full, US driving and Canadian driving license (20 years driving experience ). Regarding Piercings- I have my ears pierced.
I love keeping active- walking, running, swimming, snowboarding. I also have my grade 3 flute. I admit I haven't played in years and taught myself a little piano too.
My mother is also a nanny in England. My father is a Civil Engineers and works in Asia. I also have a younger sister who work for Emirates air line in Dubai.
I am honest, trustworthy and a very hard worker.
I have plenty of experience with regards to childcare. I helped my mother when she use to child mind growing up and also helped her out in the school she use to work in. Within swimming teaching I have worked with babies aged 6 months to teenagers aged 16 years over the past 14 years. My nanny/au pair rolls I've worked with children between the ages of 1 and 10.
I also have a 10 year travel visa for the USA.
I am kind and caring with a firm but fair approach when it comes to working with children and believe children need routines and boundaries.
