Dear host family,

My name is Giulia, I am British/Italian and I am currently working as an au pair in Sydney.
I have multiple years of experience working with children, and I truly enjoy spending time with them - although it can be exhausting and demanding at times, I personally find it very rewarding and the happy moments by far outweigh any challenges.

With a degree in Psychology, I am educated about childhood development and I am passionate about supporting children with their emotional and social growth. I am kind and compassionate, and I enjoy creating fun activities for everyone to enjoy.

I have years of experience as an au pair/live in nanny, as well as having held numerous babysitting roles, and I have worked with children between the ages of 5months all the way to teenagers.
In the last 6 months I have been living and working with an Australian family, supporting them with their children aged 3 and 5.
I have also previously worked for a year in London for a wonderful family with three children, aged 6 months, 1 and 5 years old. My roles included helping the children getting ready for school in the morning, taking them to and from school when required and helping with the evening routine (dinner, bath, bed).
I have also supported the family in looking after the children by taking them to enriching activities such as art classes, music classes, the woods.
I had some wonderful experiences and I have hoping to find a family just as lovely as my previous ones.

I have also worked as an English teacher - both in China, as a kindergarten and primary school teacher, and in Japan, as a high school teacher. I am very interested in education and I have two TEFL certificates (teaching English as a foreign language). I enjoy creating fun, dynamic lessons that keep my students engaged (this can be a challenge when they are only 3!) and get them learning in a spontaneous way.

I am quiet, kind and considerate, and I have a natural tendency to be caring and attentive. I am respectful, and I will pay attention to any house rules, as I understand having a stranger in your home is a big step. I have a strong sense of family, and although I appreciate sometimes having some quiet time on my own, I also truly enjoy spending time together.

I enjoy feeling like I’m part of the family, and that includes helping with the day to day chores - from doing the children’s laundry, to cooking healthy meals to tidying toys away. I also love pets, especially dogs, so I would be happy to provide help when needed.

My job is to make your life easier - I’m more than happy to be flexible with my hours/days and responsibilities depending on your needs.

I am also certified in paediatric first aid (including CPR) and with a recent International Protection Child Certificate.

I am really curious to hear all about you and your children. I hope that my contribution will make your life a bit easier from a practical perspective, but also that it will be an enriching experience for both of us.
