Introduction
My name is Crystal and I love babies, children of all ages, and animals! I have been babysitting since I was 12 years old, and I have 2 younger brothers as well. I have some education in Early Childhood Education, though I did not finish that degree because my mother talked me out of it. I ran my own small home daycare for a couple years, which I only stopped doing because it was costing me too much when parents would not pay for their children's care and I was buying supplies for the childcare and activities.
I also have experience taking care of disabled people, the elderly, and I worked at a wildlife sanctuary for over 3 years taking care of injured and orphaned animals. I tutored high school and college students while I was in college, in several subjects, mostly English and History. I was an Editorial Assistant/Intern for a published magazine while in college as well, so I have great communication and grammatical skills for teaching English.
For my university degree I double majored in History and Humanistic Studies (basically study of human societies and cultures), with an Ancient and Medieval Emphasis. I planned to become a History teacher, because I wanted to be one of those fun teachers that helps people actually like history, but the Education program at my university was very small and took a long time waiting to get into. I graduated with High Honors, ALMOST Highest Honors, and am a member of Phi Kappa Phi, a national academic honor society which only those in the top 7.5 percent of their class are invited to join.
I recently took a course to be certified to teach English as a foreign language, which focused primarily on teaching young learners. I took this because I read that there is a great need for mother-tongue English teachers in Italy (specifically American English speakers), I would LOVE to be able to teach children English, and I really want to live in Italy for various reasons.
However, I am finding that none of the language schools are willing to assist with the visa process. This leaves me looking for a lovely helpful family who would like their children to have a private English tutor/teacher, who is also an experienced child/elderly/disabled individual/animal care provider, and are willing to assist with the visa process.
