Introduction
Who am I? I am an enthusiastic, adventurous and happy young human being. I enjoy dancing to any kind of music, laughing at my own jokes, reading biographies of strong women or inspiring stories, and I enjoy hiking even though I always seem to lose my breath.
I am ambitious, committed and idealistic..me would say these qualities are negative but I say, I'd rather live in a world where the glass is always half full.
My family is HUGE! I have 9 sisters and brothers (well I'm one of those 9) and trust me I have a hard time keeping up with them. My youngest one is now 4 and is a little angel. The eldest one is about 41.
I am organized, well as best as a full-time student could be. But of course, I keep things tidy and I have a thing for washing dishes.
An important thing to note: I am a US Citizen and will be relocating to the US but currently I am in Denmark.
Why do I want to be an au pair?: In the summer of 2019, I had the opportunity to have my first au pair experience which I truly grew and learned so much from. It was challenging but worth it. That experience made me realized I would love to do it again. I enjoyed feeling like I could be as curious as a child and to let go of all societal expectations when you are at the beach and the children want to play a game about being stranded on an island where you happen to need to crawl for your life, you can't be embarrassed. Which was truly liberating. I want to have more learning experiences with children, I want to continue to laugh and find new ways of creating art and craft messes.
One thing that I realized as well, was how wonderful it is to have new cultures around you. To listen to new languages and attempt to learn them. It was exciting to be a part of a family that had different customs and ways of thinking. This experience teaches you that it's ok to be sad because you miss your family but it also makes you realize that family and a home can be anywhere you allow yourself to open your heart to a new and unconventional sort of family. I want to continue to expand my idea of family and home.
