Hello!

My name is Portia, and I am looking for an AuPair job in Europe! I am very excited about the opportunity to work, live, and travel the beautiful European cities in addition to taking great care of others.

My hometown is Las Vegas in the United States. I have spent the last four years finishing my education and working seasonal jobs. I finished my education at Colorado Mesa University, where I studied Business Administration with a concentration in Economics. I graduated in May of 2023 with academic honors. During my college career, I was a varsity swimmer at my university.

Since I've graduated, I've explored more of the Western United States by working seasonal jobs. In summer of 2023, I worked at a bakery near Glacier National Park in Montana. Currently, I work as a front desk agent at Taos Ski Valley in New Mexico. To be able to travel and work has been a great blessing, and I look forward to being able to work abroad.
 
My main experience includes 3 years of Swim Lesson Instruction, and the ages of children I taught were between 4 and 12. In addition, I have a seven-year-old sister that I have helped my family care for. With this experience, I have learned so much surrounding childcare. To be able to share my love of swimming and to be able to learn to care for young children are experiences I have found to be so rewarding.

In these experiences, I have learned that each child is different and that it is truly important to personalize when it comes to childcare and teaching. It is important to me to build a trusting relationship with any child that I teach because I find that it is essential to their learning. To do this, I choose to engage in age-appropriate conversations that allows me to gauge a better understanding of who they are as a person. I am a strong believer that each child deserves to be heard and seen.

A few values I hold close to my heart include honesty, authenticity, forgiveness, hard work, and kindness to every person. These values have stemmed from my upbringing as well as what I have experienced in my life and have learned from others. I believe that people cross paths for a reason, and that we have something to learn from each person we meet.

I would like to disclose that I do have multiple cartilage ear piercings. My hair is long, and I wear it down, so it is concealable.
