61 years of age, going on 20-something (physically)! Very energetic, full of life & exercise daily. Lots of love and genuine kindness to share. Mother of one, aunt, and grandmother more than a few times. Also, the nanny of 2 and Grandma's companion for 5 years. I love children, watching them grow, and helping them learn new things. Not all children are the same, but they all deserve patience and understanding. My patience with children & life comes from the realization that every one of us had to go through the "growing pain" stages of life - we have all been there. I believe in a stable foundation that implements morals & manners. I think that the nanny should be an extension of the expectations, ground rules, and standards that have been set forth by the parents. I firmly believe that constant communication & feedback is essential between the parent and the nanny for the stability, happiness, and growth of the child/children.
It's refreshing to view the world through the eyes of a child. There's a lot of satisfaction in watching and/or helping them learn new things. Technology is great, it means progress for mankind, and children need to be exposed to it because that is the way things are today. However, I believe that there should be limitations set forth. I am not an old biddy by any stretch of the imagination. Personally. I don't think that technological gadgets should ever serve as a substitute for personal one-on-one human interaction, or be used as a means to just occupy a child. I'm referring to: TV, video games, computers, cell phones, etc. I believe that everybody should be physically active. Do things that stimulate your mind as well as your body: play outside, engage in sports, go for walks, go to the library, go to the movies, build something, bake something - I'm sure you get the idea.
Brief personal background: I grew up in the country, had horses and my grandparents had a dairy farm, I was active in track, gymnastics, basketball & softball. My parents divorced when I was young, so actually, my time was spent between my mother & stepfather's home and my real father's home. I'm from a family of 5 girls, I am the middle child. My entire family lives within 20 minutes of each other.
At 61 years old, I have done a lot & experienced many things in life (some good & some not-so-good :-( ). I have to admit that comes from something inside of me that refuses to come to the end of my life and wonder "what if" I had done this, or tried that - that is a whole other story that I am more than happy to explain, should you care to ask.
Regarding any duties that fall into the personal assistant status, I separate them into two categories. #1 - (Business Personal Assistant) I've had small businesses of my own, was a licensed real estate agent & have held various sales-related positions. In short, I feel competent in my ability to assist in business-related matters. #2 - (Personal Assistant) Whether it be "personal" assistance ie: grooming, mobility limitations, needing help with everyday duties, mom needs help around the house, or just an
extra pair of hands I feel competent in those areas also. I'm a mother and a certified nursing assistant. Also, when it comes to housekeeping and cleaning, I should mention that for appx. For 5 years I had a successful cleaning business of my own. I was the owner/employee. I did all of the work myself because I found that my idea of cleaning differed from most people's (I admit that I'm picky).

An important addition that is a MUST mention: In 2016 I acquired "Bailey". He is a very well-behaved, well-trained, 8.5-pound Chihuahua. Wherever I go, he goes... this is absolutely non-negotiable! Bonus - he's not a barker or a yappy dog :-) Thanks & God bless!
