Introduction

Hello! I’m Lily. I’m 22 years old and from beautiful Clearwater, Florida! I’m from a loving and supportive family. I have two siblings, a little sister, Chloe, and a little brother Kaden. Chloe just turned 19, and is in her 3 year of college and doing very well. My brother Kaden is 17, and in his first year of college, as he started early. Growing up I often looked out and took care of them as my parents worked. My mom travels a lot for her job, as she is the national managing director of Employee Benefits at Baldwin Group. My dad does real estate here in Florida. They both often had meetings, and work to do, so I would stay at home and help watch and feed my siblings. We have a very close and tight knit bond. I like to believe that I am a caring, curious, culturally engaged, and responsible individual, who loves connecting with new people, and learning new things, whether it be languages, or skills. My background combines language study, cross-cultural experience, and a genuine passion for making connections with people from all walks of life. In high school my family hosted three exchange students, where I helped perfect their English, and helped introduce them to my own friends, where we all became a tight knit friend group. To this day, we all still share an unbreakable and close bond, which has lasted throughout the years and oceans apart. I believe that these traits and these experiences have prepared me to be a thoughtful, dependable, and adaptable au pair.
I have studied French and Spanish for several years, as well as Mandarin Chinese for seven years, which has given me both linguistic skills and a deep appreciation for other cultures. Learning new languages has taught me patience, persistence, and creative communication, skills that are incredibly valuable when working with children of different ages and personalities. I enjoy using language as a tool to connect with others, especially across cultures, and I’m always eager to keep learning and improving.
In high school, my family hosted multiple international exchange students, and I developed strong, sibling-like relationships with each of them. Through these experiences, I saw firsthand how important it is to make someone feel safe and welcome in a new environment. Hosting exchange students taught me empathy, emotional maturity, and the importance of communication in building trust within a shared home.
I was also accepted into a year-long student exchange program in Belgium, and although the program was ultimately canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, preparing for it had taught me a lot of great skills. I spent months learning about Belgian culture, adjusting and prepping for my academic plans, and mentally preparing to live abroad. The experience taught me how to plan for major life transitions and adapt gracefully when things don’t go as expected, all qualities that I believe are essential for not only being a successful au pair, but for living life in general.
Most recently, I spent a semester in Spain, where I focused on immersing myself in Spanish language and culture. Living independently in a different country helped me develop confidence, flexibility, and strong problem-solving skills. It also strengthened my appreciation for the challenges and rewards of cultural exchange, which I now carry into my approach as I embark on this next journey, of being an Au Pair, where I can help support children.
In addition to my language and cultural background, I have a genuine love for working with children. I strive to create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children feel free to learn, play, and express themselves. I’m also happy to help with light household tasks, homework support, language practice, and activity planning. My cousin four year ago had a baby boy, Kasen, who is a strong-willed, independent, and creative boy. I absolutely adore taking care of him and helping my cousin with him. Taking care of him has taught me how to allow a child to learn and have autonomy, while also making sure the child is safe and learning boundaries. It’s been a really amazing experience to have, and has taught me so much about early stages of childhood development, as I got to watch him grow and develop from a baby to a wonderful child.
As an au pair, I look forward to becoming a respectful and reliable part of a host family’s daily life, contributing not only as a childcare provider but as a supportive presence who values kindness, open-mindedness, and meaningful cultural exchange.
