Introduction
I have always planned on living in Europe, whether short-term or long-term, and as I study for the actuarial exams, I figure there is no better time than now!
For these reasons, I'm hopeful and excited to find a position that's a good fit for both parties - I'll take the weight of childcare and day-to-day tasks off your shoulders, and you'll provide me with the opportunity to fulfill the life-long goal of living in Europe!!
Here's a little more about me:
I have lived in New York, Florida, Colorado, and Louisiana! As a nanny-manager for two children (ages 2 & 4) in Colorado, my duties included transportation, preparing celiac-friendly meals, cleaning, and of course, lots of play time! At this point I consider myself an expert in dress-up and bedtime stories.
I was a personal assistant for a small business owner in Colorado as well, and worked in her home handling a variety of tasks. Child-care, plant care, website maintenance, cleaning and organization... you name it!
Currently I'm a caretaker for my sister's fiancé who is missing most of his frontal lobe due to a brain injury. This requires constant attention, as he suffers from severe impulsivity, poor memory, and low mobility.
Prior to my current position as a caretaker, I worked in third-party claim litigation for a disaster relief company. After acquiring my license to adjust claims in 26 states, I began traveling the country to run field inspections.
Working so closely with insurance companies and families whose lives have been uprooted by natural disasters is what led me to pursue a career as an actuary; it combines my passion for working with people and my love for math.
On a more personal level:
I am a FIRM believer in the saying "Cleanliness is next to Godliness". When it comes to working with children, this is especially important.
That being said, I also believe that when working in someone else's home, upholding and being respectful of their own personal standards/beliefs is a priority.
I love board games, hiking, campfires (anything outdoors, really), math, cooking, and traveling!
Most of all I love new experiences and enabling others to be happy and successful.
If you've made it this far, I hope you'll consider reaching out.
Thank you!!
