Introduction

Dear Future Host Family,

Hello! My name is Mel Franczeska, and I am a Hospitality Management graduate from the Philippines. I would describe myself as a caring, patient, responsible, respectful, hardworking, and adaptable person who genuinely enjoys helping and taking care of others. My journey in Hospitality Management taught me that making people feel comfortable, welcomed, and valued is not only about providing good service but also about showing genuine kindness and understanding. I also had experience in student leadership, where I learned the importance of responsibility, teamwork, communication, and being someone others can depend on. These experiences have shaped me into a person who tries to approach every responsibility with care and a positive attitude. I am now excited about the possibility of becoming an au pair because I want to experience a different culture, meet new people, grow personally, and hopefully become a meaningful part of a family's everyday life.

My experience in hospitality and food service has also helped me develop practical skills that I believe I can bring into your home. I worked as a dining cashier and assisted in the kitchen with food preparation while keeping the work area clean and organized. These experiences taught me to follow instructions carefully, pay attention to details, manage different responsibilities, and remain calm and patient even when things become busy. More importantly, they taught me the value of being dependable. I understand that when someone trusts you with a responsibility, you should take it seriously and do your best. I enjoy keeping things organized and helping create a comfortable environment, and I would be happy to assist with age-appropriate household and childcare responsibilities. I am also willing to learn new skills and adjust to your family's routines, preferences, and expectations.

The reason I want to become an au pair goes beyond the opportunity to travel. I would love to experience what it is really like to live with a family in another country and learn about their culture through everyday life. I want to discover your traditions, food, language, celebrations, and family values while also sharing my own Filipino culture with you. I would be happy to introduce you to Filipino food, traditions, stories, music, and the warmth and hospitality that I grew up with. I believe cultural exchange is one of the most beautiful parts of being an au pair because it allows people from different backgrounds to understand and appreciate one another. I hope this experience will allow me to become more independent, open-minded, confident, and understanding while creating memories that I will carry with me for many years.

When it comes to children, I believe that patience, kindness, attention, and genuine care are very important. I would love to spend time with your children through simple everyday activities such as reading, playing games, doing arts and crafts, preparing simple snacks, helping with routines, organizing their spaces, assisting with school-related activities, or simply listening to them talk about their day. I understand that every child has a unique personality, so I would take the time to get to know their interests, habits, and individual needs. I would respect your parenting style and follow the rules and routines you have established. I also understand that becoming an au pair means entering your home and becoming part of your family's daily life, so I would always respect your privacy, boundaries, household rules, and personal space. I am open to guidance and feedback, and I believe honest and respectful communication is the best way to build trust.

Most importantly, I hope to build a genuine relationship with my future host family. I would like to be someone your children feel comfortable with and someone you as parents can trust and depend on. I know that living in a new country and adjusting to a new family may come with challenges, but I am ready to face them with patience, an open mind, and a willingness to learn. I do not expect everything to be perfect; what matters to me is that we communicate, respect one another, and support each other along the way. Thank you for taking the time to read my introduction and learn a little about me. I would love to hear about your family, your children's personalities and interests, your daily routines, and what makes your family special. I hope we will have the opportunity to speak, get to know each other, and discover whether we could be a good match. If given the opportunity, I would bring not only my hospitality experience and practical skills, but also my genuine care, respect, positive attitude, and willingness to become a responsible and loving part of your family's journey.

Warm regards,

Mel Franczeska
