My name is Farrin, and I am a 20-year-old native English speaker from Cape Town, South Africa. I grew up in an English-speaking home and completed my education through the British curriculum at private schools. I am currently studying Marketing and will be living in Porto, so I am looking for a live-out, part-time position.
Working with children has always been something I genuinely enjoy. As one of the Head Prefects at my primary school, I spent a year mentoring and caring for a group of 9-year-olds. This meant comforting children when they were upset, wiping away tears, listening to their funny stories, watching movies together, teaching responsibility, and making sure every child felt included and supported.
I believe childhood is one of the most important stages of life. Every child deserves to feel safe, heard, and respected. I don’t believe in shouting at children. Instead, I believe in staying calm, being patient, and talking to children with kindness and respect. I think they learn best when they feel understood and valued.
I also have 12 years of drama experience, including training at the Waterfront Theatre School. Drama has taught me creativity, confidence, and how to engage children through storytelling, games, and imaginative play.
Having grown up in Cape Town, I have always loved the beach and being outdoors. I even worked as a lifeguard, which strengthened my sense of responsibility and awareness. I believe children benefit greatly from spending time outside, exploring nature, and creating happy memories.
In the future, I hope to become a Social Media Manager for professional sports teams, particularly ice hockey or rugby teams, or to work in digital marketing for the Olympic Games. Until then, I would love the opportunity to become a trusted, caring, and reliable part of your family’s daily life while supporting your children as they learn and grow.
