Introduction
My name is Stefany B., and I am 25 years old from the Philippines. I am a degree holder and come from a big and loving family. I am the oldest among my siblings, which helped me become responsible, patient, caring, and independent from a young age. I also grew up surrounded by many younger cousins, and I often helped take care of them during family gatherings and everyday activities. Being around children of different ages has always been a natural part of my life and has strengthened my love for caring for them.
My first childcare experience started with my own family. Since my father left us when we were young, my mother and I shared the responsibility of taking care of my three younger siblings—two boys and one girl. As the eldest child, I helped prepare their meals, assisted them with their daily needs, looked after them, and supported my mother in raising them until they became independent. Later, when my younger sibling got married and had a daughter named Abby, I also helped take care of my niece by assisting with feeding, playing, supervising, and ensuring her safety and well-being.
My second childcare experience was as a nanny for two siblings. The older child, Nazarene Blezzel, was 2 years old when I started working with the family. My responsibilities included preparing and feeding meals, bathing the child, changing clothes, helping with daily hygiene, organizing educational and outdoor activities, reading stories, putting the child to sleep, accompanying the child during activities, and ensuring a safe and happy environment. During my time with the family, a newborn baby was born, and I also helped care for the baby. Since the children's father was a seaman and often away from home, I worked closely with the mother in caring for both children. I stayed with the family for three years, providing loving and reliable childcare.
My third childcare experience was caring for a 9-year-old child with autism named Zeus Ryle Marco for two and a half years. My responsibilities included assisting with daily routines, preparing meals, helping with personal care, accompanying him to activities, encouraging learning and social interaction, providing emotional support, ensuring his safety, and being patient and understanding of his individual needs. This experience taught me valuable skills in communication, patience, adaptability, and caring for children with special needs.
I am hardworking, trustworthy, flexible, cheerful, and dedicated to providing the best care possible. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, swimming, cooking, playing outdoor games, and spending time with children.
Why do I want to become an Au Pair?
I want to become an Au Pair because I genuinely enjoy spending time with children and helping them learn and grow. My experiences caring for my siblings, cousins, niece, and the children I worked with professionally have made childcare a meaningful part of my life. Being an Au Pair is a wonderful opportunity for me to experience a new culture, improve my language skills, and become part of a new family while sharing my own Filipino culture and traditions. I believe this program will help me grow personally and professionally while allowing me to do something I truly love—caring for children. I am excited to create meaningful memories with my future host family, support their children's development, and build a strong and positive relationship with them.
Thank you for taking the time to read my letter. I look forward to the opportunity to become part of your family and create wonderful experiences together.
Sincerely,
Stefany B.
