Family's Introduction to Nanny
Thanks for visiting our profile!
So you're looking to travel the world and explore different countries and cultures, but the logistical inertia of traveling for more than a couple of weeks at a time is daunting.
You have questions about where to go, where to stay, how you'll get around, where is it safe for a single woman traveler, not to mention the critical question of how to pay for everything.
Perhaps you've heard about the *slow travel* movement and so now the idea of saving up for months to take a 10 day trip seems woefully unfulfilling.
Those thoughts have brought you here to AuPair.com, where you're itching to embark upon a new chapter of your life as a nanny or an au pair abroad.
You want to explore the world safely and at your own pace, while leaning on the experience of a loving household of seasoned world travelers to provide you with a comfortable and stable home base...
===============================
Now you, you're an Ndezi - a specialist in Kindezi, the art of holistic child caregiving / rearing / nurturing / development.
You've studied studied child psychology and early childhood education formally, but you're also familiar with the movement of homeschooling families.
You have patience built from wisdom, and you understand that children react to and learn from our temperaments and dispositions. If children are a whirlwind of raw energy, you're a deeply rooted tree well-prepared to keep them grounded and to lovingly teach them to regulate their emotions.
Maybe you've heard about concepts related to holistic healthcare like naturopathic, homeopathic, or herbal medicines. Maybe you have an important spiritual practice that you engage in regularly such as meditation, yoga, cultural arts, or other rituals that you can share with us.
If you've read our wall of text to this point, then we've at least touched on a few core things that describe and motivate you.
If you're a skilled, experienced, and credentialed nanny (or an eager and motivated au pair) who is interested in engaging in a reciprocal arrangement with a family of digital nomads, then please reach out to us. You bring your competencies as a child-rearing specialist and we'll bring you along with us on our family's worldschooling journey.
We welcome non-AI-generated messages from all interested Bandezi. Hope to hear from you soon!
Job Description
Now we're looking for an actual nanny; a skilled professional who is interested in joining our family as we (slowly) travel the world. We’re looking for someone whose resume includes actual early childhood education experience and whose background and interest includes deliberate study of the childrearing arts. Experience babysitting younger siblings is unfortunately not enough for what we're looking for.
Obviously we're looking for someone who is kind, reliable, grounded, and all of that good stuff.
In this role, you'd be the primary executive of our homeschooling program. That's why experience in early childhood education is an absolute must for us.
You would be essentially the manager for our 3-year-old's core educational program - benefits include free naps and unlimited juice boxes.

FAMILY DESCRIPTION
We're a worldschooling family of four.
Dad (Faseyi) is from the US, mom is from Rwanda. Big brother was born in Rwanda and baby sister was born in Kenya. Big brother has already visited four countries at the tender age of three. And as soon as baby sister turns 6 months she'll be getting her first passport stamp.
So far we've traveled to Rwanda, Barbados, Kenya, and the United States. We're based in Nairobi, Kenya until 2028, but currently in the US until October 2026. After returning to Kenya from the US, we'll be gearing up for a short "side quest" trip to Spain sometime late 2026 or early 2027 followed by a separate side quest trip to Portugal.
Like I mentioned above, we're a worldschooling family. Worldschooling is an educational philosophy and lifestyle where a family’s travels, global experiences, and immersive cultural interactions serve as the primary foundation for learning. Put simply, wordschooling is like homeschooling mixed with international travel.
Rather than relying solely on a traditional classroom we view the world itself as the ultimate textbook. Learning happens organically through visiting historical sites, navigating new environments, interacting with diverse cultures, and managing day-to-day life while traveling.
But that doesn't mean that we don't have a set curriculum at home. We actually prefer to maintain the consistency and structure of a set curriculum, but adapted to occasional changes in our home-base as well as more frequent multi-month (side quest) trips.
We're also fans of the slow travel movement - which has become more of a necessity for us now that we have children. Over the next several years we plan to maintain a base in a single country for 2 years or so before we head off to the next. We take short side quest trips to other countries while maintaining our base in our home country. Makes sense?
Overall, we try to maintain a balanced household with a mix of good 'ol fashioned discipline and structure with a bit of wanderlust incense-burning bohemian vibes.
