Local Childcare Coordinator - California

GreatAuPair is a full-service au pair agency designated by the Department of State, which provides affordable live-in childcare to American families through carefully screened international au pairs since 2001. We are hiring a Local Childcare Coordinator to work with host families and au pairs in the local market. This position affords schedule flexibility and growth opportunity.

As a Local Childcare Coordinator in your community, you are an integral member of our team. You will be working closely with host families and au pairs to provide program support, as well as reaching out to your community to market and grow the program. This position is perfect for an individual passionate about cultural exchange and positive impact. Our Local Childcare Coordinators help change the lives of families and exchange visitors for the better. You must enjoy bringing people of different backgrounds together and possess a high EQ.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Screen host family applicants

Interview all new host families to ensure their suitability and to provide a program orientation. You will educate families about the exchange program and help them determine if hosting a foreign national is right for their family

Support host families and au pairs during their placement year

Place a welcome call to the host family and au pair within 48 hours of the au pair's arrival into the home to ensure a positive start to the relationship

Conduct an in-home orientation within two weeks of the au pair's arrival into the home. The Local Childcare Coordinator sets the foundation for success by helping both parties set appropriate expectations and talk through any perceived challenges

Attend an annual host-family-day event

Conduct mediations as needed to help resolve placement difficulties and facilitate positive outcomes

Serve as a helpful resource to your host families and au pairs

Engage with the au pairs in your area monthly

Monitor and maintain all related Department of State regulations

Live within 60-minutes drive time of all host families you service

Ensure Department of State regulations are followed throughout the placement

Immediately report any Department of State violations or concerns to your Regional Manager

Grow the program in your community

Recruit new host families by actively promoting the program in your community. Share your positive experiences working with young people from around the world

Provide exceptional support to families so that they continue to host, ensuring the longevity of the Au Pair Program
