I am planning to move permanently to my home in Spain late September 2023 in Duquesa. I currently hold a residency card for Portugal and will obtain any necessary documentation to work legitimately in Spain once I arrive later this year. I have my own home in spain and 2 small dogs so I would prefer to live out. This would not stop me working any shifts pet sitter is arranged. I have a full clean UK drivers licence and car which can be insured for business use if required. I can arrange my own business insurance if I am required to be self employed.
I have always been hands on in my work life and led by example, housework and child care in a domestic setting would never be a problem and whilst sometimes challenging I find caring for children of all abilities to be really worthwhile and rewarding employment. I am also happy to work with older clients in a caring or companion role. I am accustomed to living In lovely homes and I am maybe just a little OCD where housework is concerned. I have a good sense if humour which I feel is essential working with children and love meeting new people. I am happy to work with pets and help care for them, hamsters to horses. I like sports and play golf and badminton occasionally. I swim and do yoga to keep fit.
I can teach baby yoga and have first aid and food hygiene certificates. Experience in but not limited to: medication, writing care plans, activity planning, safeguarding, special dietary needs, personal care plans, behaviour management, diabetes management. Risk assessments. Laws, regulations and best practice in social care and private settings. All training and courses relevant to these activities taken and passed.
I have hands on care and management experience of care for children and adults of all ages with physical and mental disabilities, autism, challenging behaviours, special educational needs, Dementia and life limiting illness.
I am experienced with children and babies, my own twins now left the nest. I have counselling experience with RELATE in UK.
I can bring experience and maturity along with a great positive and active approach to life, always promoting independence and encouraging engagement to learn new life skills in an imaginative and fun way.
Most recently I have managed the every day life, health and well-being of a client with acquired traumatic brain injury and amputations. Managing 9 staff and being a hands on part of this care team was greatly rewarding.
Prior to that I coordinated and planned for the after school, weekend and school holiday activities and clubs for a case load of 40 children and young adults. This work was split between office based and on site delivery. During this time I had many successful outcomes with reducing challenging behaviours in children and improving their ability to socialise and reduce support from 2-1 support to 1-1 and in some cases reduced support enabling them to join group sessions.
Prior to that I ran my own business in renewable energy.
