Dear host family,

I am already very excited about getting to know you. But, first of all, I would like to introduce myself to you.

My name is Elizabeth . I am 22 years old and from the small city Ruiru in Kenya. I am almost completing my course in social work and community development. I took the cause because of the passion I have to helping outreach those with hardships and able to stabilize them. I stay with my parents, Martha and Francis and my five siblings. I am living in a house that is located in an area full of nature.  We have got some poultry , who love to take care of them. My father works as an accountant in a private company , my mother works as an office clerk. I am also a firstborn daughter in my family . Overall, we are a pretty large family that lives in union.

I would describe myself as a reliable and caring person, who tries to make the best out of every situation. I like spending time learning new skills. Always trying to help, I’m always there for them if they need me.
My first language is, of course, Kiswahili, and I am also fluent in English. I started learning English in primary school, and it was also the language of instruction in the secondary school I attended. I have in addition been taking courses taught in English at university.I speak an intermediate level of french.
I like to listen to music, go shopping or dance. Dancing and cooking are one of my favorite hobbies. I am a volunteer at the Kenya redcross that has given me opportunity to working and meeting with different kinds of personality that gives me the guide of handling others.
When my siblings were young, I also took care of them, when our mum was working. Through this time, I have found out how much fun it is to have children around, I can’t imagine a life without them.

The reason why I want to go to the USA as an au pair is that I want to get to know the American way of life as well as different cultures. Most importantly, it would be a great chance to spend an entire year taking care of children. And of course, it would be great to improve my English skills as well.
For the past more than ten years, I took care of children of all ages from different families. I became very close to them and I cherish the time I have spent with them.

I would be happy to have the opportunity to speak with you: to answer whatever questions you may have about me or my childcare experiences; to learn more about your family; your interests and to know more about what you expect from an au pair arrangement.
