My name is Joy, and with a name like that I guess it’s no surprise I bring a little extra sunshine wherever I go. I’m thrilled at the possibility of becoming a trusted helping hand in your home.
I am an empathetic person with a calm presence and a natural ability to connect with people of all ages.
With several years of hands-on experience caring for young children, I bring a nurturing, patient, and joyful energy to everything I do.
I currently work as a playgroup teacher, guiding and supporting children aged 3–4 years in their early development. I also assist with drama activities and help special needs learners through personalised intervention methods. Outside the classroom, I have experience as a school counsellor, offering emotional support to both pupils and staff. This has shaped my ability to remain calm, compassionate, and responsive in challenging situations.
What makes me a great babysitter is my genuine love for children and understanding of their emotional and developmental needs. I enjoy writing, storytelling, imaginative play, exploring nature, and finding creative ways to keep kids both entertained and safe. I’m also responsible, respectful of routines, and quick to adapt to your family’s preferences.
In addition to my childcare background, I have experience in transcription and creative writing, which reflects my strong communication skills. I’m fluent in English, Swahili, and Kikuyu (my native language), and will be more than happy to help your children learn new words or express themselves with confidence.
